Bluma Litner
Board Member
Bluma Litner is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus at Concordia University in Montreal. She received her M.A. degree (French literature) from the University of Paris (la Sorbonne) in 1970 and her doctorate in educational theory from the University of Toronto in 1991. After chairing the French Language Studies Department of Loyola College, she was recruited to the Dean’s office, becoming Assistant Dean of Students from 1975 to 1981. Dr. Litner joined the Department of Applied Human Sciences in 1989, bringing with her an extensive human resources development consulting practice as president of her own consulting firm and becoming one of the principal consultants of the Department’s Centre for Human Relations and Community Studies. She was appointed to the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) for a three-year term in 1987 and again in 1990.
Dr. Litner has received a number of teaching and leadership awards, including a 3M Teaching Fellowship awarded nationally in recognition of exceptional contributions to teaching and learning at Canadian universities.
