Presented in collaboration with the Association québécoise des Critiques de Cinéma (AQCC) and the Société de développement des périodiques culturels québécois (SODEP).
How is the Francophone film press doing today? In the age of social networks and overabundant forums, who still needs to listen or to read film critics? Printed magazines seem to reinvent themselves, focusing on feature articles, highlighting local artists (especially on their front pages and covers) or refreshing their visual identities. On the Web, readers are no longer attached to a specific territory and new markets are wide open. And what about the space given to film criticism on broadcast radio? This panel aims to explore the issue, with Québécois and French professionals.
