NOTRE-DAME DE PARIS: JOURNEY INTO THE PAST
Canadian Premiere | Ubisoft | France | 2020
Following the April 15 fire that devastated Notre-Dame, Ubisoft presents an immersive virtual tour made possible by Assassin’s Creed Unity. Recreated in 3D with 5,000 hours of work and historical data, this experience reveals Notre-Dame from unique angles, including the roof and flying buttresses, immersing viewers in 18th-century Paris to the sound of the Cavaillé-Coll organ.
MAMIE LOU
North American Premiere | Isabelle Andreani | France, Luxembourg | 2024
Dive into the realm of ancestral spirits, where you are chosen, along with two other guides, to accompany Mamie Lou on her final journey. As her granddaughter Clémentine gives birth in Tokyo, Mamie Lou, struck by a stroke in France, lies suspended between life and death. With your kind presence, you help her relive her cherished memories, guiding her toward a peaceful end.
ITO MEIKYU
North American Premiere | Boris Labbé | France, Luxembourg | 2024
Ito Meiky? is a VR experience inspired by Japanese art and literature (The Fukinuki Yatai, The Tale of Genji, The Pillow Book) that unfolds as a grand, emotionally powerful sensory fresco. A collection of drawn, animated, and sound scenes are captured in digital material; they recreate a subjective world (internal and external) as a labyrinth of fractal architectures inhabited by plants, objects, animals, humans, patterns, and calligraphy. The exploratory virtual space lets viewers access different scenes randomly, engaging in a kind of hide-and-seek with the universe in which they are the omniscient observer.
OTO’S PLANET
North American Premiere | Gwenael François | France, Luxembourg | 2024
Oto enjoys lounging on his hammock and savoring the fruits from the single tree in his peaceful little world. However, his tranquility is disrupted when a small spaceship crashes, bringing Exo, a hyperactive, clumsy astronaut. Their cohabitation proves challenging, and communication becomes a true test.
