At the Atlantic Bar, Nathalie, the owner, is the center of attention. Here, people sing, dance and care about each other. After the owner puts it up for sale, Nathalie and the regulars are confronted with the end of their world and a potentially destructive but vital place. Presented as part of the parallel section of the ACID in Cannes, director Fanny Molins, who, for this documentary spent four years observing the comings and goings of the Atlantic, carefully captures the essence and charm of the daily life of this small bistro in Arles. Beyond the postcard-like images captured, Atlantic Bar bears witness to the uncertain fate of these neighborhood businesses.
