BLIND WILLOW SLEEPING WOMAN

A lost cat, a giant frog and a tsunami help an unambitious salesman, his frustrated wife and a schizophrenic accountant save Tokyo from an earthquake and restore meaning to their lives. Pierre Földes, a multidisciplinary creator who here wears three hats, directing, scriptwriting and composing, offers a singular work of animation based on a collection of short stories by Haruki Murakami, an avant-garde author of modern literature. Punctuated with inventive metaphors, Saules Aveugles, Femme Endormie highlights that sudden awareness following an encounter, a separation or an unexpected event that forces us to wonder about the path we have chosen.
