In the late 80's. Les Amandiers theater school in Nanterre is one of the most renowned in France. Passing the exam is a necessary step towards a career on stage or the big screen. Stella, 20 years old, will find herself caught up in this fast-paced world. Valeria Bruni-Tedeschi's Les Amandiers (Un château en Italie) confirms the great talent of young actress Nadia Tereszkiewicz, who appeared this year in Monia Chokri's Babysitter. Playing the role of director Patrice Chéreau, Louis Garrel gives a powerful performance. Inspired by Bruni-Tedeschi's own memories, Les Amandiers was warmly welcomed at Cannes this year.
