In a shopping mall, an absent-minded older man steals a turkey without realizing it. Though his girlfriend watches over him constantly, he becomes so completely absorbed in the faces that he meets that he doesn’t notice the drama unfolding around him.
CINEMANIA's opinion:
After the powerful short film LE SOLEIL ET SES TRACES (co-directed with Denis Chouinard in 1990), Louis Bélanger continues the adventure of the Houblonneurs Unis, a videographic creation group that disbanded in 1992. With LES GALERIES WILDERTON, the filmmaker pursues his interest in characters who are left behind, existing on the margins, such as this aging man, lost in an era that overwhelms him, who accidentally steals a turkey from a supermarket.
