Jean and Claire have a perfect son, Alexandre, who is studying at a prestigious American university. During a brief stay in Paris, he meets Mila and invites her to a party. The next day, Mila files a complaint against Alexandre for rape, destroying the family balance. Presented at the 78th Venice Film Festival and based on the novel of the same title by Karine Tuil, Les Choses Humaines questions the contemporary world and dismantles the merciless mechanics of the legal machine. Actor-director Yvan Attal divides his story into three acts: "Him", "Her" and a chapter where the trial is thoroughly retraced, conveying empathy to each of his characters despite their actions.
