SINGING JAILBIRDS

Luc is a famous opera singer who accepts to lead a singing workshop in a women's detention facility. He soon finds himself confronted with the difficult tempers of the inmates. Between good conscience and personal quest, Luc will try to bring these women a sense of freedom. A film that is both simple and illuminating, about the emancipating power of art and especially music. Here, the reasons why these women are in prison are deliberately left out of the picture: only what happens around the singing counts. In the title role, Alex Lutz (Guy, Cinquième set) shines. Surrounded by strong voices, the actor amazes and delivers a remarkable performance.
