Louis, Eric and Daniel, three reckless young friends, decide to start selling drugs to earn some pocket money. When their business quickly becomes a success, they turn to other illicit substances that are more dangerous and more profitable. Despite some bumps in the road, they continue living at 100 miles an hour, driven by the thrilling sensations of crime and excess, with no intention of slowing down.
CINEMANIA's opinion:
Louis Bélanger draws on his memories of childhood and adolescence in Quebec City’s Beauport neighbourhood and looks back on 40 years of contemporary history. His directorial talents are on full display in the film as he has different young actors play characters at various ages. The seventh and latest of Bélanger’s feature films, LIVING 100 MPH continues his collaboration with director of photography Pierre Mignot. The semi-autobiographical film also features the Louis’s brother, harmonica player Guy Bélanger, who composed the music with his partner Claude Fradette.
