After 20 years of marriage to Richard (Benjamin Biolay), Maria (Chiara Mastroianni), leaves home and beds-down in a hotel room (#212) immediately across the street. From that close vantage point she can actually see into her apartment, view her anxious husband and ruminate on the state of their marriage.
Amusingly, renowned director-scriptwriter Christophe Honoré conjures-up the ghosts of Maria’s former lovers and even a much younger version of Richard, who all voice their opinions. It’s an unapologetically fanciful fresh take on love and marriage. Filmgoers who fancy romantic comedies will bask in the glow of one that’s sophisticated and inventive. Highly entertaining!
