Emilie Tesson-Hansen (the extraordinary Celine Salette), a brilliant young HR manager with “killer instincts”, is targeted by both government inspectors and her own company’s executives in the wake of an employee’s stress-induced suicide. How can she save her skin while still maintaining her ethical standards? She’s ready to do almost anything to please her manipulative boss Stephane (the ever-charming Lambert Wilson). She’s not above using her skills in downsizing staff and skirting France’s torturously constricting labour laws, but now Emilie herself is faced with a common moral dilemma – keep your job or your principles?
Writer/director Nicolas Silhol, inspired by current French socio-economic conditions, paints a convincing portrait of corporate obsessiveness with the bottom line.
