Enzo enjoys a comfortable life with his parents in La Ciotat but surprises them by choosing to become a mason’s apprentice. His working-class path, and his friendship with Vlad, a Ukrainian coworker, challenge his family’s expectations. Originally developed by Laurent Cantet before his death, the film has been completed by his longtime collaborator Robin Campillo, who fuses Cantet’s social precision with his own romantic sensibility. The film’s cast, mostly non-professional, brings understated authenticity to this story of work, friendship, and quiet rebellion.
