At a refugee reception center, two teenage girls, Jahia and Mila, meet and form a fragile friendship. One has fled war in the Sahel region, the other comes from Eastern Europe. Director Olivier Meys spent months in similar centers to capture their reality with precision. The performances by Sofiia Malovatska and Noura Bance, who both share elements of their characters’ experiences, create a moving portrait of youth, exile, and hope.
