In this bittersweet dramatic comedy, Géraldine Nakache directs and acts (playing Vali), while Leïla Bekhti plays her polar-opposite sister Mina, and Patrick Timsit brilliant as their warm and very funny father. Vali is outgoing and a bit of a dreamer, an ambitious young singer who wants to audition as backup chorus for Céline Dion, while Mina is a rational “both-feet-on-the-ground” therapist. The sisters rarely get along, constantly bickering, and their devoted father finally organizes a weekend of reconciliation, strategizing a disapproving Mina to drive Vali several hours away to Paris for her audition.
It’s a story of deep love between two sisters that remains unexpressed, until “things” start to happen...Heart-warming and humorous.
