The publication of her mother Fabienne’s gossipy memoirs, brings estranged daughter Lumir (Juliette Binoche) and husband (Ethan Hawke), back to Paris to join the celebration. But the family reunion swiftly becomes confrontational. Old grudges surface, inappropriate love affairs and resentments are confessed. To make matters worse, iconic actress Fabienne (superbly-acted by Catherine Deneuve), is simultaneously filming a science-fiction movie playing the aging daughter of an eternally-young mother (could “reality meeting fiction” lead to a mother-daughter reconciliation?)
