1967-1968. Jean-Luc Godard is the lion of the French New Wave. He’s happy and in love with wife #2, Anne Wiazemsky (Stacey Martin). (Her autobiography inspired acclaimed director Michel Hazanavicius’ brilliant fun-loving script). Anne (age 20) idolizes Godard (age 35), and she’s his muse. The revolutionary year 1968 unfolds as Godard and his buddies drive down to Cannes to cause more havoc - the Festival is forced to shut down! He denounces not only all of his heroes’ films but also his own! Godard’s radicalization (both political and artistic) accelerates, his filmmaking breaking from anything remotely resembling mainstream cinema. Louis Garrel is mesmerizing as Godard – cinephiles don’t want to miss this one!
