Bérénice (superbly portrayed by Emilie Dequenne), is a new member of a fire and emergency brigade—she’s the classic “sole woman in a man’s world”! Authentic life and death responsibilities of first responders inspired writer-director Pierre Jolivet and provided realism for this spellbinding account about the men and women who put their own lives on the line in the service of their fellow citizens. The principal actors spent weeks with actual fire brigades and firemen (non-professional actors).
The film was shot in Région Occitanie, CINEMANIA 2017’s featured French region, in surroundings near the walled city of Carcassonne as well as in the city of Bram in the Département de l’Aude.
