Lumière ! The Adventure Continues

The second installment of the series that began with Lumière! The Adventure Begins (2016), this collection presents films shot in the early 20th century, now gathered and restored for the first time. Thierry Frémaux, the General Delegate of the Cannes Film Festival, continues his passionate work at the Institut Lumière in Lyon, where cinema was invented, focusing on the restoration and dissemination of heritage works while exploring the contributions of his "fathers," Louis and Auguste Lumière. These distinctly French films reveal the genesis and ideas behind numerous American blockbusters, serving as, as Bertrand Tavernier put it, "witnesses of our time."
