Rosa is a mother of five and married to a bad-tempered Sicilian. Caught in the whirlwind of daily life, she struggles to take care of her household. In order to provide for her family, she secretly takes out loans... but the accruing debt proves to be too much, sending her into a spiral of denial and isolation. One day, her son Nino discovers a notice of eviction. Reluctantly stepping into his much too absent father's shoes, he is ready to do anything to get his family out of this situation.
