France
The story of three inseparable friends growing up in France’s so-called empty diagonal, an area scarred by nuclear waste. While one of them seems to succeed, the others remain trapped by their surroundings. The two directors of Bloody Milk deliver a deeply personal film, an ode to lifelong friendship and the bonds that shape identity. The trio, Paul Kircher, Idir Azougli and Salif Cissé, shine with sincerity. Addiction is portrayed with remarkable empathy and without judgment, offering a humanistic portrait of rural resilience.
