Paris, July 1793. The situation is explosive, and the Reign of Terror is in full swing. Amid this world of violence and upheaval, one constant remains: women have no rights. Olympe de Gouges is one of the few who stands up against this injustice. A woman of letters and activism, Olympe openly confronts Robespierre. Arrested by the state police, she awaits her trial, confined in a detention house. Among the other condemned, she continues to fight. Julie Gayet and Mathieu Busson, who previously created the documentary series Cinéast(e)s in 2014, explore this central feminist figure of the French Revolution, long forgotten by history.
