Usually associated with the world of work and its challenges, the brilliant Stéphane Brizé (known for The Measure of a man and Mademoiselle Chambon) switches gears with this delicate romance about the fleeting reunion of two lovers. We follow Mathieu, a cinema star who comes to dilute his melancholy in the hot tubs of a thalassotherapy center. By chance, he encounters Alice, whom he knew fifteen years earlier. Similar to the works of Jacques Tati or Sofia Coppola's Lost in Translation, Out of season intelligently navigates between humor, self-deprecation, and tenderness. Presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
