Maureen (Kristen Stewart), a young American in Paris, works as a fashion go-fer for a celebrity. It’s a cushy job that leaves her plenty of free time to explore her other line of work as a psychic. Maureen can seemingly communicate with spirits and she’s been plagued by bizarre cell phone messages that appear to be from her dead twin brother, with whom she shared the same psychic gifts.
Director Olivier Assayas (CLOUDS OF SILS MARIA) creates a fascinating chronicle about the superficial chaos of two worlds – luxury fashion and the supernatural – a sophisticated, disturbing and, at times, terrifying thriller.
