Marie, an Ivorian evangelical pastor in Tunis, shelters other migrant women, forming a fragile chosen family whose solidarity gets challenged by the social, political and economical situation of Tunisia. Director Erige Sehiri tackles discrimination faced by Sub-Saharan women in North Africa, expanding on her earlier documentary work. The film, which opened Cannes’ Un Certain Regard and won Best Director at Angoulême Francophone Film Festival, combines faith, solidarity and resistance in a context rarely depicted on screen.
