CINEMANIA’s
opinion
:
Adele
Exarchopoulos‘s
talent
needs
no
further
proof.
Since
Blue
is
the
Warmest
Colour,
we
no
longer
see
her
appear
in
embodied
/personified
and
atypical/unusual
roles.
She
has
surprised
us
already
this
year
with
her
appearance
in
Quentin
Dupieux’s
whacky
comedy
Mandibles.
Here,
in
interpreting
a
young
woman
at
a
crossroad,
she
delivers
her
most
subtle
and
complex
performance
yet.
Directors
Emmanuel
Marre
and
Julie
Lecoustre,
for
whom
this
a
first
film,
inspired
by
the
naturalist
cinema
of
the
Dardenne
brothers,
illustrate
with
acuity
workplace
alienation
in
the
modern
age,
an
approach
that
provides
this
excellent
actress
the
opportunity
to
develop
her
character
that
is
gradually
unveiled
and
to
which
we
end
up
being
attached.
