Sibyl (Virginie Efira), is winding down her psychotherapy practice to concentrate on writing when actress-in-crisis Margot (Adèle Exarchopoulos), blunders into her office seeking help. Margot’s arrival is an inspirational blessing, providing fodder for a novel – she’s on a movie shoot co starring her lover Igor (Gaspard Ulliel), and she’s pregnant with his baby. But Igor is already partnered with the film’s director! It provokes Sibyl’s flashback recollections of her own troubled past and passionate affair with Gabriel (Québec’s Niels Schneider).
This second impressive collaboration of director/co-screenwriter Justine Triet with Virginie Efira is a smart, subtle and suspenseful psychological thriller. Pure enjoyment!
