The destiny of Simone Veil, her childhood, her political battles, her tragedies. The epic and intimate portrait of a woman with an extraordinary life, who shook up her era by advocating for a humanist message that still resonates today. Deported to Auschwitz at the age of 16, Minister of Health presenting the law decriminalizing abortion in 1974, President of the European Parliament, the older Simone is brilliantly played by Elsa Zylberstein, and the young Simone, by Rebecca Marder (discovered in Sandrine Kiberlain’s A Radiant Girl). This grand biopic also marks the return of Olivier Dahan, award-winning director of La vie en rose (2007) and Grace of Monaco (2014).
