It is said that in 1953, the first-ever film by a Francophone from Black Africa was made: "Mouramani," directed by Mamadou Touré. However, the legend of this work still endures, as the film reel has never been found. A young Guinean filmmaker takes it upon himself to locate the lost film by traveling across the African continent and pursuing his quest to France. In the style of a light-filled road movie, this compelling documentary serves as both a touching account of his journey to the origins of Francophone African cinema and a love letter to his people and the seventh art.
