In May 1968, nine-year-old Christophe lives with his grandparents in Paris, trying to make sense of the chaos outside. Exploring the house, he discovers a secret room filled with memories of the Nazi Occupation. Lionel Baier adapts Christophe Boltanski’s novel into a witty and touching reflection on history and denial. Seen through a child’s eyes, the story becomes both a coming-of-age tale and a meditation on memory. The late Michel Blanc offers a moving final performance.
