Eléonore is a 34-year-old apprentice writer who has a never-ending string of odd jobs and one-night stands, while the only one she can confide in is her cat, Lucifer. When she finds out that her manuscript on which she had been pinning all her hopes will not be published, everything falls apart… Under the pressure of her mother and sister, she gets hired as an assistant in a publishing house specializing in erotic novels.
Amro Hamzawi, started his career in the United States where he was the assistant to Michel Gondry and to Curtis Hanson, chose his own sister, the humorist and actress Nora Hamzawi (DOUBLE LIVES, ALICE AND THE MAYOR) to play the leading role in his first feature film as director. Part of the cast includes André Marcon (ME, MYSELF AND MUM) and Dominique Reymond (great actress of the French theater). JUST LIKE A WOMAN is a sincere portrait of a person with a certain emotional immaturity, for whom the tiniest thing is experienced as a drama. Influenced by Woody Allen and Alexander Payne, Amro Hamzawi successfully paints the portrait of a collection of solitudes, and plays on the contrast between pure comedy and melancholy.
