Catherine Major has received numerous awards over the years, including the prestigious Coup de cœur de l'Académie Charles-Cros, the Félix Leclerc award and a Jutra for best film score. As a singer-songwriter, the artist has presented five superb albums and shows throughout Quebec and abroad. Carte mère, the show from her most recent album, is currently touring Quebec. Well known for her fusion with her instrument, the piano, and the intensity with which she delivers her art, Catherine is often called upon to collaborate in various collective projects, from pop to classical. She has also written for her peers, notably Diane Dufresne, and has been commissioned to compose several film scores over the past decade. Catherine Major wrote the music and orchestrations for the album and show, Albertine en cinq temps, l'opéra and collaborated on several projects including two series of radio programs on Radio-Canada. www.catherinemajor.com
