PASCALE BUSSIÈRES | Guest CINEMANIA 2022

ACTRESS | JURY CO-PRESIDENT | « Visages de la Francophonie »
Pascale Bussières is one of Quebec's finest actresses of her generation. She’s had a successful career in Canada and internationally, in both French and English. Her first motion picture, Sonatine, shot when she was only 13 years old, won the Silver Lion for Best First Film at the Venice Film Festival in 1984, thus foreshadowing the success that awaited her. Since then, she has played with some of the greatest actors. In 2001, she co-starred with Emmanuelle Béart in La Répétition by Catherine Corsini, nominated for the “Palme d'or” in Cannes. Throughout her career, Pascale Bussières also played with actors such as Monica Bellucci, William Hurt, Daniel Auteuil, Kristin Scott Thomas, and Laurent Lucas. Bootlegger, her most recent film (released in 2021), in which she plays a rum runner, gives a voice to Canada's native women.
