CINEMANIA IN TWO EUROPEAN FESTIVALS

The CINEMANIA Film Festival is currently participating in two major events in Europe, the Luxembourg City Film Festival and the Festival Pluriel.les, offering a unique opportunity to celebrate French-language cinema and more specifically Quebec films.
At the Luxembourg City Film Festival, whose 13th edition is underway until March 13, CINEMANIA took part in the Industry Days orchestrated by Alexis Juncosa, Artistic Director. On this occasion, the annual meetings of the Europa Films Festivals association were held, which brings together several major organizations and of which CINEMANIA is a founding member. On site, our General Manager Guilhem Caillard and Communications Director Anne de Marchis also participated in the fifth professional day “VR Day”, organized by the Film Fund Luxembourg in cooperation with the Centre PHI in Montreal and its representative Myriam Achard.

The team was also delighted to accompany and support the presentation of several Quebec films in the program, such as NOÉMIE DIT OUI directed by Geneviève Albert, who made the trip, as well as RESPIRE by Onur Karaman, recipient of the Prix Rayonnement Banque Nationale for best Quebec film at CINEMANIA 2022. The screenings took place in the presence of Ms. Geneviève Brisson, Quebec's Delegate General in Brussels.
At the Festival Pluriel.les, CINEMANIA is honored to have a member of its team on the jury. Guilhem Caillard, general manager and program director, sits alongside such personalities as director Éric Metayer, actress Sofia Essaïdi, director Stéphanie Pillonca, actor Jérémy Gillet, actress Anaïs Parello and producer Judith Lou Lévy.

Founded by Quentin Delcourt and Laurence Meunier, this festival based in Compiègne (France) aims to showcase films that celebrate diversity and inclusion, which is why the film CHIEN BLANC*, directed by Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette and starring Denis Ménochet, will be screened on Thursday, March 9 in the presence of the filmmaker and her lead actor. It is an honor for CINEMANIA to be associated with this festival and to participate in its mission to promote films that highlight diversity and inclusion.

CINEMANIA's participation in these international events is a unique opportunity for the festival to accompany Quebec filmmakers, to present their films to a different audience, to interact with professionals in the field, to expand their network and to find new outlets for their projects.
International festivals are powerful tools for promoting Quebec cinema on an international scale. CINEMANIA is proud to collaborate with renowned events to promote French-language films on a European scale. The Quebec films presented at the Luxembourg Film Fest and the Festival Pluriel.les, notably CHIEN BLANC and RESPIRE, represent the dynamism, diversity and creativity of Quebec culture. CINEMANIA will continue to play its role as a catalyst for the promotion of Quebec cinema internationally and to support filmmakers in their quest for recognition.
