CINEMANIA is pleased to announce the appointment of Marie-France Godbout as the newest member of its Board of Directors. She joins the Council’s nine permanent members, chaired by Pierre Roy.

A seasoned professional in the film industry for over two decades, Marie-France Godbout has consistently been guided by a love for great content and an unwavering passion for cinema. After completing studies in communications, she began her career in distribution at MGM UA, a major American studio, before moving into the private sector with Aska Film, C/FP Distribution, and Motion Internationale. She also gained valuable experience in theatrical exhibition with Ciné-Entreprises, deepening her overall understanding of the industry.
In 2002, she joined Telefilm Canada as a distribution specialist and went on to serve for over 15 years as National Director, French-language feature film market. In this role, she led the team responsible for decisions relating to francophone films on a national scale and played a pivotal role in building strong ties with industry stakeholders. Since then, she has developed a long and distinguished career marked by rigour, creativity, and commitment.
Widely recognized for her expertise in content and production strategy, Marie-France stands out for her clear-sightedness, her respect for the creative process, and her ability to support producers and creators at every stage of development. Her contribution promises to be a great asset to the future of an industry she so deeply cherishes.

- David Eap (Finance professional, Director of the Canadian Representative Office, Banque Transatlantique)
- Vincent Leduc (Lawyer by training, producer and founder of Zone3)
- Marc Pichot (General Manager, Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile)
- Denise Robert (Film producer, founder of Cinémaginaire)
- Sandrine Tibau de Montplaisir (Lawyer specializing in labour law and intellectual property)
- Maxime Vanasse (Talent agent, founder and president of Agence MVA)
Chaired by Pierre Roy (former television executive at Astral), the board supports the strategic direction of the Festival, led since 2014 by General and Artistic Director Guilhem Caillard.
