OPENING GALA OF CINEMANIA’S 31ST EDITION

It was in an atmosphere both festive and filled with emotion that the 31st edition of the CINEMANIA Film Festival opened on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.

The public, artists, and festival partners gathered at the Monument-National to celebrate the launch of twelve days dedicated to the very best in Francophone cinema, during an evening presented by Sofitel Montreal Golden Mile.

Among the guests of honour were, among others, Juliette Binoche, Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada, the new Mayor of Montreal Soraya Martinez Ferrada who chose CINEMANIA for her first public address as well as Léa Pool, who came to present her film On sera heureux, produced by Lyla Films and distributed by Entract Films and Les Films Opale, in the presence of the film’s team.

The evening featured several memorable moments, including the presentation of the Artistic Influence Award to Juliette Binoche, honoured for her entire career and contribution to Francophone cinema. The actress took the stage with emotion to share her love of cinema.

A night celebrating Francophone cinema and a shared love of the seventh art, marked by inspiring speeches, heartfelt reunions, and a collective excitement for the launch of this 31st edition.

The 31st edition of the CINEMANIA Film Festival opened on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in an atmosphere that was both festive and filled with emotion.

The public, artists, and festival partners gathered at the Monument-National to kick off twelve days dedicated to the very best of Francophone cinema, during an evening presented by Sofitel Montréal Golden Mile.

Among the distinguished guests were Juliette Binoche, Souriya Otmani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Canada, and the new Mayor of Montréal, Soraya Martinez Ferrada, who chose CINEMANIA for her first public address. Also in attendance was director Léa Pool, presenting her film On sera heureux, produced by Lyla Films and distributed by Entract Films and Les Films Opale, alongside the film’s team.

The evening featured several highlights, including the presentation of the Prix du Rayonnement artistique to Juliette Binoche, honored for her entire career and contribution to Francophone cinema. The actress gave a moving speech to share her deep love for cinema.
