Alia Ben Hida is a young Moroccan filmmaker from Tangier. Trained between Marrakech and Barcelona, she has built a career spanning creation, production, and assistant directing. The granddaughter of filmmaker Farida Benlyazid, she grew up in an environment where cinema held a central place. From 2019 to 2021, she worked as a producer with Close Up, contributing to the development of documentaries in the MENA region. She has directed three short films, which have been selected by various festivals. In parallel, she joined the directing teams of Calle Málaga by Maryam Touzani and La más dulce by Laila Marrakchi as an assistant director. She was also a stage manager for several plays directed by Rob Ashford. She is currently working on the script for her first feature film.
