Biography

Active for 35 years in theatre, television, and film, Anne Dorval is one of Quebec’s most beloved actresses and now recognized internationally. Her collaboration with Xavier Dolan in 2009 marked a turning point: J’ai tué ma mère (I Killed My Mother), premiered at Cannes, earned her acting awards in Quebec, Belgium, and the United States. With Mommy (2014), she achieved worldwide success, cementing their artistic partnership, which continued in 2022 with the series La nuit où Laurier Gaudreault s’est réveillé. Abroad, she appeared in Réparer les vivants (2016, Heal the Living), Jalouse (2017, Jealous), the French adaptation of Fleabag, Mouche (2019), and Quitter la nuit (2023, Through the Night, Venice). She also returned to the stage in 2022 at the TNM with Je t’écris au milieu d’un bel orage, and in 2026 will star as Céline Wachowski in the adaptation of Que notre joie demeure. Since 2024, she has been a judge on Quel Talent and appeared in Splendeur et Influence.
