Biography

Singer-songwriter Audrey Ismaël embodies the flair of the self-taught: an innate sense of rhythm, a visceral connection to music, and a taste for adventure. Her Réunionese roots gave her a love of polyrhythms and an instinctive way of shaping melodies and orchestrations that bring depth to characters’ journeys onscreen. After starting out in 2011 with the duo Smoking Smoking with Vanessa Filho, she quickly established herself as a film composer. She has written the original scores for Les grands (OCS), Germinal (France 2), Vortex (France 2), as well as feature films including Angel Face (Gueule d’ange, Cannes 2018), The Consent, The Path Of Excellence, Wild Diamond (Official Competition, Cannes 2023), The Kingdom (Un Certain Regard, 2023) and Marmaille (2024). In 2025, The Secret of Khéops will be released, while she also scores Belphegor, Enchaînés (TV Shows) La Maison des Femmes, and Badh (Feature Films). Honored with the “Breakthrough Composer” award at Les Arcs Festival 2024, she stands out as one of the singular voices in film music.
