Biography

Charlotte Devillers, born in 1979, is a screenwriter, director, nurse, educator, and mother. Trained in theater, she later turned to writing and directing short films within collectives, before pursuing studies in education and then nursing, a profession she still practices today. Her main tool is observation, which she applies both in her artistic practice and in her caregiving work. Her career is marked by a strong commitment to child protection and supporting victims, causes she also champions through her filmmaking. In 2024, she released her first feature film, On vous croit (We Believe You), co-written and co-directed with Arnaud Dufeys. The film explores prevention, justice, and education, offering a sensitive perspective on the Youth Court. Continuing her journey, Charlotte is now preparing a second film dedicated to the caregiver–patient relationship and contemporary sexual health, affirming a cinema where the intimate and the collective meet, nourished by her experience as a nurse.
