Biography

Danielle has been a creator, screenwriter, and director for over twenty years, specializing in media arts. Through her bold works, she opens a collective dialogue on feminism and social issues. She is notably the creator, screenwriter, and director of the Franco-Manitoban drama series EL TORO (6 x 1 hour), produced by Manito Média, available on ICI TOU.TV from Radio-Canada and Apple TV. In 2025, Danielle is producing Les faillites d’Astrid, a short series (6 x 15 min) scheduled to premiere on ICI TOU.TV in winter 2026. She also wrote and directed the experimental film Catalogue, a commission for the Winnipeg Film Group’s 50th anniversary, as well as a documentary on architecture to be broadcast on CBC in 2026. Her work has been widely recognized, with three nominations in four years from the Directors Guild of Canada (DGC) for her documentary and television series achievements, the Manitoba Hothouse Award for Creative Development in 2020, the Major Arts Grant from the Manitoba Arts Council in 2015, the King Charles III Medal in 2025, and over 30 arts grants at various levels throughout her career. Danielle is an active member of the Directors Guild of Canada, the Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Canada (Société des auteurs de radio, télévision et cinéma), the Regroupement des artistes cinéastes de la francophonie canadienne (RACCORD), Réalisatrices équitables, On Screen Manitoba, and the Winnipeg Film Group..
