Biography

Diana León is a performing artist and choreographer from Mexico City. She studied at the Tecamachalco Ballet Studio, at the National Ballet School of Cuba, and at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, before joining the National Dance Company of Mexico. From 2014 to 2019, Diana danced with Les Grands Ballets Canadiens, touring internationally. She was a member of the Quantum Collective multidisciplinary lab and studied vocal techniques with singer Mamselle Ruiz for several years. Diana has worked as an independent artist with Montreal-based choreographers, such as Anne Plamondon and Martin Messier. Alongside Paco Ziel, Diana co-founded and co-directs the company Vías. In 2024, Diana and Paco received the Prix de la Danse de Montréal in the “Revelation” category. The company produced On this path, you are sure to get lost (2018), Sabor de mi corazón : cumbia (2022) and Flesh and sound (2023). Diana played the lead role in the short film La grande chasse (2021) and the feature film Oraison (2025), both directed by Laetitia Demessence.
