Domenic Bro is an Acadian filmmaker from New Brunswick. For over twenty years, he has explored documentary, fiction, music videos, advertising, as well as artificial intelligence and other hybrid forms. His work has been shown in cinemas, on television, and online. Alongside his brother, he has created numerous projects under the Productions Les Frères Breau banner, while also developing his own personal work. In 2024, he took part in the Acadie-Lumière residency, a creative lab held during the Festival acadien de poésie. There, he created Entre deux croches, a videopoem conceived from text to final cut in just 72 hours, in collaboration with Wolastoqiyik and Acadian poet Shayne Michael. The film weaves together memory, exile, and breath. Languages, territories, and atmospheres intertwine and overlap, inviting the viewer into a sensory, almost physical experience, where every image and sound echoes with the intimacy of both reality and imagination. Alongside his creative work, Domenic is deeply involved in his artistic community. He served on the board of directors of ArtsNB from 2019 to 2025, acting as chair during his final year. He was also a member of the Transition Committee on the Status of the Artist, helping support the adoption of legislation aimed at improving the socioeconomic conditions of professional artists in New Brunswick.
