Biography

A graduate of the Theatre School at Cégep de Saint-Hyacinthe, Émile Schneider began his film career with Après la neige by Paul Barbeau. He gained recognition for his lead role in Là où Atilla passe… by Onur Karaman, alongside Roy Dupuis, a performance that earned him a nomination for Best Actor at the 2017 Quebec Cinema Awards. He then portrayed Pierre Sauvageau in Embrasse-moi comme tu m’aimes by André Forcier, a role for which he received the Roy Dupuis award at Cinémaniak in 2017. He reunited with the director for Les fleurs oubliées and Ababouiné. Among his other notable film roles are Le pacte des anges by Richard Angers, Une splendeur de vivre, and L’Ouragan F.Y.T.. In 2021, he played François Paradis in Maria Chapdelaine by Sébastien Pilote, a performance that earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Gala Québec Cinéma. On television, Émile Schneider has appeared in several notable series, including Fée-Éric, L’imposteur, Dominos (Seasons 1 and 2), Le monstre, Le chalet (Seasons 4 and 5), Victor Lessard, L’Académie, Les Armes, Stat, Après le Déluge, L’Échappée, Les Cavaliers, and District 31. He is also the creator and lead actor of the series La loi c’est la loi, aired on TV5, which was selected for several international festivals, including Séries Mania in France. For this project, he received a nomination for Best Actor at the 2021 Gémeaux Awards. In theatre, he has distinguished himself in productions such as The Iliad (directed by Marc Beaupré), Dead Poets Society (directed by Sébastien David), Blood by Lars Norén (directed by Brigitte Haentjens), and Au cœur de la rose.
