Guillaume Sapin is the founder and artistic director of Festival Vues du Québec, the leading French festival entirely dedicated to Québec cinema. Through his organization, La Nouvelle Dimension, he has made it his mission to promote Québec’s film culture in France, particularly in rural regions that are often underserved. Since 2006, Guillaume has developed deep expertise in Québec cinema, which he shares with both the general public and industry professionals. He created the website “Mon cinéma québécois en France” to showcase films to cinephiles and works closely with programmers to facilitate their distribution across the country. Through Festival Vues du Québec, soon celebrating its 17th edition, he has hosted over a hundred Québec filmmakers and artists. The festival goes beyond screenings; it also carries out film education initiatives and supports independent film distribution, helping these works reach their audiences in France. In this way, Guillaume Sapin has established himself as a cultural bridge-builder, playing a key role in the ongoing cinematic dialogue between Québec and France.
