Kim Yip Tong is a Mauritian multi-disciplinary artist and filmmaker whose practice weaves painting, animation, installation, and collaborative research to explore contemporary identities and ecological futures. A graduate of the Royal College of Art in Information Experience Design, she cultivates narratives of inter-being and cohabitation, positioning art as both resistance and care. Her films and installations have been shown internationally, including at the Annecy International Animation Festival, Tribeca Film Festival, and Sónar +D in Barcelona. Her short film Black Tide (Pie Dan Lo) (2024) , a poetic reflection on the duty of memory and our relationship to the sea, has been screened widely in almost 90 festivals across the globe. She’s currently a lecturer at ENSA Nantes Mauritius and Rubika Mauritius.
