One of Québec’s most prominent actresses, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau leads a rich and eclectic career spanning theatre, film, and television. On stage, she has stood out in major classical roles, portraying Mademoiselle Julie, Roxane in Cyrano de Bergerac, Madame de Tourvel in Les Liaisons dangereuses, and Electra. Her performances, both precise and deeply expressive, have earned her the admiration of audiences and critics alike. A key figure of Québec television, she has played leading roles in numerous acclaimed series and received several acting awards recognizing the depth and authenticity of her work. In cinema, French audiences first discovered her through Xavier Dolan’s Les amours imaginaires and Laurence Anyways. She later portrayed Chantal in La nuit où Laurier Gaudreault s’est réveillé, a Dolan work originally created for the stage and later adapted as a series (broadcast on Canal+). Her artistic partnership with Monia Chokri marks another defining chapter in her career. After Quelqu’un d’extraordinaire and La femme de mon frère, their third collaboration, Simple comme Sylvain—in which she plays the lead role—won the César Award for Best Foreign Film. With L’Âme idéale, Magalie Lépine-Blondeau stars for the first time in a feature film shot in France. She continues to expand her career in the country and will soon appear in Sébastien Marnier’s series Paolo and in Mystik, a film by Azedine Kasri and Raphaël Quenard.
