Biography

Trained at the Conservatoire national supérieur d’art dramatique (CNSAD) in Paris, Manon Clavel was awarded the Olga Horstig Prize in 2016. She has performed in around ten plays under the direction of stage directors such as Christian Benedetti, Gaëlle Hermant, and Xavier Gallais, among others. On screen, she made her debut in The Truth by Hirokazu Kore-eda, the opening film of the Venice Film Festival in 2019, opposite Catherine Deneuve and Juliette Binoche. She then appeared in Mother and Son by Léonor Serraille, in the official competition at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Pigalle by Mélanie Aitkenhead, and The Answering Machine by Fabienne Godet. Kika, by Alexe Poukine, gave her her first leading role in cinema. Presented at Cannes’ Critics’ Week last May, the film has since received numerous awards, including the Grand Prize and the Best Actress Award at the Brussels International Film Festival (BRIFF).
