Biography

Marie Claude Pernelle is a director and screenwriter. In 2011, Palaviré Productions produced her short film Fichues racines, based on a short story by Gisèle Pineau. She is currently preparing a feature film inspired by the novel Case mensonge by Gisèle Pineau, co-written with the author herself. As president of APCAG (Association for the Promotion of Cinema from the French Caribbean and Guyana), she leads the Caribbean Cinédiles VOD platform and the CINUCA project: a digital film archive for the Caribbean. She is also the author of two historical novels : Emprises de conscience and Filatures, published by Ibis Rouge. She serves as the cultural officer for the city of Le Moule and oversees cinema programming at the Robert Loyson theater.
