Biography

Marie Grégoire, President and Chief Executive Officer of Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec (BAnQ), was appointed by the Cabinet on July 7, 2021, for a five-year term starting August 9, 2021. Her term will end on August 8, 2026. She also sits on the boards of Domaine Forget and the Carmand Normand Foundation. An experienced manager and communicator with an unconventional background, Marie Grégoire has held several executive positions in major companies in the economic and social sectors. A founding partner of TACT Intelligence-conseil—now one of the leading communications agencies in Quebec—she also lent her talents to major companies such as IBM, Bell, Desjardins, and Zoom Media. In addition to teaching at the Université du Québec à Montréal, she has contributed to several publications as an author. Notably, she took part in the relaunch of Premières en affaires, a business magazine focused on women and economic development. Deeply engaged in her community, she has served on several boards of directors, including the Montreal Heart Institute. She has also worked with the Literacy Foundation and the Institut Pacifique. She currently serves on the boards of Domaine Forget and the Carmand Normand Foundation. In 2002–2003, Marie Grégoire served in the National Assembly as the Member of Parliament for Berthier. As a radio and television commentator, she went on to play a prominent role in Quebec's media landscape for over 15 years. On May 15, 2024, Marie Grégoire was elected President of the Réseau Francophone Numérique (RFN). She will use this position to mobilize key stakeholders and strengthen the preservation and discoverability of Francophone content and cultures in the digital space.
